One of the things that I have always wanted to do was to celebrate the holiday season at the lake. This year, this dream became a reality with our time at Headwaters. We decorated our terrace with Christmas lights, put up a Christmas tree and enjoyed time with our kids at the lake.

Not only did we celebrate the Christmas season but enjoyed the great things that Kenora has to offer. Highlights included clearing a skating rink on a pond behind The Headwaters in The Common Ground, having friends visit, going skiing at Mt. Evergreen, and using the Mike Richards Recreation Centre on a number of occasions to go swimming, running and for a very exhilarating spin class.

As we spend more and more time in Kenora and get to know more people, we are very much enjoying our time here and the sense of community that we have experienced. While a 12-month destination may not resonate with most cottagers who visit Kenora for the summer months, it has sure exceeded our expectations.
